Quiet here, I'm afraid.

No 4AD8/7DA8 "Ghan" running due to the reduced services from GSR, the only bonus for gunzels south of here is double-headers on the Ghan, last weeks lucky numbers are NR75 and AN3, word from down south is NR75/AN2 for this weeks 1AD8/4DA8 service.

Freights have been running, odds on they're chockers account the Barkly Highway cut between Tennant Creek and the QLD/NT border, expecte to be reopened next week. No idea on the motive power being used, haven't actually been lineside to see on running.

FJ104 is the shuntosaurus.

Raining here, currently 23. Nice beer drinking weather, more rain expected. (Stuart Highway cut near Tennant Creek, only way north is by rail...)

Have a good week, Stick that one up your arse!!

Still alive, still drinking beer...

Nothing too out of the ordinary here except this weeks 3AD1 was about 8-9 hours late into town, VL/VL motive power after one of the other locos crapped itself down south.

Back to two Ghan services a week with 4AD8/7DA8 now running again after Christmas (started beginning of February)

FJ yard shunter, not too sure if its 104 or 105, will have a perusal during the week.

Trackwork has been going on, last weekend saw the sleepers at Illparpa Road level crossing beign replaced.

Getting cooler here, fuck all rain, see ewes later!

Stick that one up your arse!!

I reckon a bit of everything would be a nice start.

I second the motion of AN1, on the subject of photos from the centre!

I agree.
I have never been to the outback and pics of everything plus a few trains would be nice.

Quick roundup from the Centre:

Last week 4AD8/7DA8 didn't run, cancelled by GSR.

Locos that got a guernsey on the Ghan have been NR56, NR74, NR75, NR109, AN2 and AN3 in the last few weeks.

AN3 in the yard with a wheel defect, no idea when this will be sorted.

FJ105 is the yard shunter.

Word from The Other Place is that this weeks 1AD8 has two NRs, been a while since this has happened.

Prominent Hill traffic in CQXY wagons has started, usually 8 wagons are added at Wirrilda (spelling?) for the trip to Darwin.

Boom gates and new 12" LED lights fitted to Bradshaw Drive (were 8" incadescant globes) and Illparpa Road (was only GIVE WAY signs). I'll let ewes know the first time some goose gets it wrong.

All in all, getting cooler here, tourists rolling into town and the cows are fattening up nicely. The economic cirisis hasn't quite hit here as hard or fast as it appears to of happened elsewhere as I can't recall anyone mentioning having to lay off staff in town. No pictures-missus is in the West with the camera.

Have a good week! Stick that one up your arse!!

Quick burst of the ins 'n' outs of rail & infrastructure here in the middle of the country:

:pint: No 4AD8/7AD8 service this week, nor for the next two weeks as GSR have tapped these on the head.

:pint: Triple headers on AD1/DA2 services are becoming more common, usually FQ/ALF/VL or FQ/CLx/VL

:pint: CQXY wagons becoming common the AD1/DA2 services, usually at the front of the consists either way

:pint: Double stacked containers are an on and off affair, some days you get them, some you dont.

:pint: GM45 & GM46 run south with their ballast train after a couple of weeks here, must be due for the AK cars soon (within the next 3 or so months)

:pint: Infrastructure wise no-one has managed to fuck up the new boomgates yet, give it time...

:pint: Commonage Road intersection and crossing now has line markings you can see, done in the last week, and while the spray gun was out, the Larapinta Drive crossing got new yellow lines.

Weather is getting cooler, got to 5 degrees this morning, public holiday today here.

Stick that one up your arse!!

Quick roundup from the Centre:

Locos that got a guernsey on the Ghan have been NR74, NR75, NR109, AN2 and AN3, may of been others but I didn't get to see all the services.

Ghan back to two services (1AD8/4DA8 and 4AD8/7DA8) as usual.

AN2 in the yard for about a week as the shuntosaurus whilst FJ105 was recieving mechanical attention.

CL/VL, FQ/ALF/ALF amongst the combos in the AD1/DA2 freighters.

Weather is nice and shitty here, maximum of 10 degrees today and yesterday. Got an inch of rain, out to the north-east, falls of around 40mm were had.

Have a good week

Stick that one up your arse!!

5AD1 tonight has CLP16 VL352, they crossed 4DA2 at Dry Creek which had VL VL CLF (didn't get the numbers).

Not much changes here in the middle of nowhere:

-FQ/ALF or FQ/VL or ALF/VL combos now common on most freight services, still get the occasional triple bulldog lashup if you're lucky or ALF/ALF or FQ/FQ combo.

-CQXY wagons still appear on services usually at the front of the consist.

-Double stacking has become erratic in the last couple of weeks, still a fair few containers moved south though.

-Fuel still moved by road tankers on AQQY (?) wagons

-The big string of fuel tankers still hasn't moved, been there for a while, no idea what their fate is.

-Yard shunters have been FJ, AN or 700 class locos

-The Ghan is still a NR/AN pair for the run north, AN2 and AN3 are still the second loco for this run, NRs in the lead include 1, 57, 74, 75 & 109.

-The last few weeks have seen erratic timings on freights mostly on 3DA2 and 7AD1 arriving at odd times. Most other services are on time or ahead of time.

Infrastructure wise, there has been no more upgrades to level crossings done and I'm not too sure when any other ones will be upgraded.

Stick that one up your arse!!

If you're referring to the piggyback wagons, they are coded FPPY.

Thanks for the update
